A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, beliefs, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

It's a tradition....

With this generation (on the Hemmer-side) the aunties have gotten a key to the hotel
and decorated the honeymoon suite on the day of our nieces and nephews weddings.
We have a small family, only 6 nieces and nephews total, so it's been a lot of fun for
us aunts to "spice up" their rooms before they arrive on the eve of their wedding.

When they arrive this is what they see...
Rose petals leading into the room

Candy kisses & "Dove" chocolates adorn the king size bed, dressers and hot tub .
It's hard to see in this photo but we also have a small (battery operated) fountain
on the bedside table, the trickle of water creates a nice ambiance  :)

Tea light candles, Sparkling cider & wine goblets
embellish the hot tub

Cant forget about the bathroom  :)

Hand written notes of love are written to our sweet niece Jill, and her new husband
The other auntie... Susan (my husband sister)
I let her write the "sappy note" She does a good job!

After the reception & dance....
Wishing you both a life of joy, love and marital bliss
Love you Travis & Jill

My pretties...

It was a very late start to planting this year!
To even find a day that it wasn't raining to attempt and plant was a challenge!
It's been a couple of weeks now and the plants are starting to thrive.
I haven't had to water much, the good Lord is taking care of that
so , It's all good  :)

 Around the house....
Deck planters
I Love picking out flowers to plant in these planters
Brings lots of color to our outdoor living area.
Hanging plant

My perennial shade garden (north side)

West side, The perennials here will be blooming soon....cant wait!

Front Garden, only one DayLily thus far, wont be long and it'll be full of
yellow flowers.

I planted my Zinnia's from seed around the front tree, it'll be awhile before we see the fruits of my labor, but I'm so looking forward to fresh cut flowers to bring indoors.

Up up and away...

My oldest son has always "tossed" Audrey,
The older she gets, the higher he launches her

(photo's taken by youngest son this weekend)

Coming back down...
Look at the joy in her face...she begs for more every time
It's what those two do!

November, 2010

I saw the sun...

Feeling blessed by an absolutely beautiful Saturday
Got up early to enjoy the sun and peacefulness

"The Steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
They are new every morning, great is your faithfulness."
Lamentations 3:22-23

Spent some time (over breakfast) with my Brice & Jennifer who are staying with us for the weekend
Had lunch on the deck with my guy, and youngest Gavin.
Got the lawn mowed and a car washed.
Made chicken/macaroni salad and chip dip to take to my daughter's.
Looking forward to family time as we celebrate Carson's first birthday this afternoon.
Foercast says more rain and possible storms.... lets hope it hold off !

A new roof over our heads

Hard to believe this was only 1 month ago...
Even more unbelievable was what the 15 inches of snow did to our gazebo frame
A "mini" Hubert H Humphrey metro dome. (May 3, 2013)

Yep that snow was heavy enough to bend the sturdy metal frame of the Gazebo roof.
We typically don't put the canvas on the roof until we're pretty sure it's done snowing for the year,
We thought we were safe, after all it was May, but we should of known...
this winter was the winter that never ended!
(dont be fooled, I'm not complaining.... I'm just sayin')

Luckily we were able to order a new metal roof frame,
the replacement parts were reasonable, we were thankful for that.
The weather has not cooperated much at all this spring,
but it finally stopped raining this weekend, so my guy went to it, and got her done.
putting  up the new roof
Our roofless Gazebo

ahhhh,  now that's more like it  :)
